Timeline for Advertising in Cinema

The Cinema advertising campaign starts on Friday. In some of the exception cases, it may also start on a non Friday. At least one day in advance Ads are provided to the Cinema advertising agency. Ads start getting played from Friday. At the time of a block buster release there is a rush of cinema advertisers for placing their ad in that block buster movie. At such time the ad placed will be played 3 times instead of getting played at 4 times.

The Ads are accepted by the Cinema Advertising agencies in .mov and jpeg formats. Once the ads are shared by the advertising agency, specialist J2K converter agencies can convert them into cinema ad formats. There is a cost of conversion associated with cinema format conversion to J2K. Cinema slide size for on screen advertising should be 2048 x 858 pixels. The image quality must be of 300 dpi or higher.

Cinema Advertising Requires Censor Certificate

What are the timeliness for cinema advertising?

MBB and BB premium policy for Multiplexes

1. The rates are applicable for a standard run time of 4 spots per audi per day.

2. During MBB/BB weeks commitment of 3 Spots per audi per day.

For Mega Blockbuster Movies

1. MBB premium would be applicable on all the Multiplex screen as 100-200% on the rate card of the respective screens.

2. MBB premium would be applicable for the R.O which are for a period less than 5 weeks R.O, for the first week of the campaign- R.O of 5

weeks would not attract any premium.

For Blockbuster Movies

1. BB premium would be applicable on all multiplex screens as 50%-150% on the rate card of the respective screens.

2. BB premium would be applicable for the R.O which are for the period less than 4 weeks RO, for the first week of campaign- R.O OF 4 weeks would not attract any premium.

Key spot positioning premium policy

1. The last spot is the commercial category before the film, the first spot during the intervals and the last spot during the intervals will attract a premium of 100% of the rate card.
